Hi! web-surfer!, now that I'm the manufacturer of the production of salvia divinorum extract I will tell you a story about an error I had while at work.
Our equipment to make Salvinorin-A is a professional grade one, we use lab glass usually called "Pyrex", which is more chemical strong than common glassware, and it's also resistant to sudden temperature changes, or at least that's what I knew.
I'm in charge of 2 extractors made of glass, somewhat big, but light enough to handle it with my hands. We need to wash them every time after we finish an extraction.
Of course with so many orders, you have to wash it fast to have it ready for the next salvia extraction. So the equipment is still a little hot after I empty the glass recipient of our extractors. Unluckily I unintentionally knocked the container against the table hard enough to make a fisure in its base.
I was amazed that never happened before, because I used to accidentally hit our glass recipients with at least the same strength a lot of times, but this time it cracked.
After thoroughly thinked about that event, I got the the conclusion that the reason for the fisure was the temperature of the glass recipient, which it was warm when this happened.
I'll let them warm off from this day, it may take longer but it's safer.
